Straight answers about how Prinn keeps small business data on your own computers, and what it never does with it.
No. Prinn checks everything on your own computer and there is no Prinn server in the path. Your traffic, your prompts and your secrets never leave the machine, including to us.
No. Prinn never blocks you and never sends your prompt for you. When it finds something sensitive it shows you what it found and offers three choices: redact it, stop, or send it as is. You can tell Prinn to remember your answer for that category so it does not ask you twice.
Prinn pattern-matches request bodies and clipboard contents on your own computer, before anything is sent. It recognises OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, GitHub, Slack, Stripe and AWS keys, JWTs, private keys and database connection strings, then lets you redact, stop, or send as is.
Prinn is in closed beta, which is invite-only. You can download the app, but signing in needs an access code from the Prinn team. Public availability comes later.
Prinn fully supports macOS and Windows. Linux support is partial. The optional Prinn Companion browser extension works in Chromium browsers.
No. The Prinn desktop app handles key detection, the paste guard, and ad and tracker filtering on its own. The optional Prinn Companion extension adds in-page layers: cosmetic and scriptlet filtering, video platform ad blocking, page-level paste coverage, and vault autofill.
No noticeable slowdown in everyday use. Ordinary traffic passes straight through Prinn, and the only pause is when it asks you to approve something it has detected.
Running local protection with Prinn is free and needs no account. Paid plans add team features: shared policy, the encrypted team ledger, and seat management.
So Prinn can check secure HTTPS traffic for secrets before it leaves your computer, you approve a local certificate once during setup. That approval stays on your device, and you can review or remove it at any time.
The Prinn vault stores logins, API keys and notes in your operating system keychain. Secrets are matched by hash and are never written to disk in plaintext by Prinn.
No. The Prinn team ledger is end-to-end encrypted and records only events: the category, the tool, the date, the device and the choice you made. An owner sees exposure trends, never the content of your prompts or the secrets themselves.
Stopping Protection in Prinn restores your normal networking immediately. Uninstalling removes the app, and you can undo the one-time trust approval from setup whenever you like.
